Farm was a complete, an actual real life ‘first
time experience’ short story. I found a publisher
advertising for such stories to be included in an anthology
and submitted mine. Wonder of wonders, it was accepted
and I was to be paid the staggering sum of fifty dollars,
after satisfying two small conditions.
First, all the characters
had to be eighteen years old! This requirement would
have made my story and perhaps all others in the proposed
anthology pure fiction. The only reasons I remained
a virgin until age fifteen were that I couldn’t
find a willing partner near my age and of similar persuasion
in the small town I lived in and I was able to somewhat
satisfy my raging red headed libido with my mouth as
described.
The second condition
was that the story needed to be edited from twenty to
five thousand words. I rewrote the original story to
be totally fictional using it as an outline for the
first three chapters and then just continued using my
imagination for those that followed and others still
to come, with no ending in sight.
